What is a logo and how should you choose one? First, realize that a logo is not a business brand and a brand is not a business identity. These are all components that work in conjunction with one another and a logo is just a part of all these cogs working together to make the machine work to identify who you are as company or service.
The logo is the focal point of these three very different elements that connect emotionally with the potential client, customer or lead in a way that helps them to visually identify
- Who you are as a company
- What you do
- Why it matters
It has to be unique, different, charismatic and professional. It needs to help identify you as a brand and NOT you as a person. The mistake that many people make is trying to show whom they are instead of showing the business or service the logo is supposed to represent.
Remember once your logo is developed it will be the one single visual that will be used to represent your company or service and identify it.
People are visually emotional and whatever they see in your logo is either going to lead them to possibly trust you as a professional or totally turn them off.
Bottom line, do your research, do not rush to your decisions and choose wisely and objectively for your potential clients and/or customers and not yourself. Whether you are creating a new brand for the first time or re-branding this process will help to identify you as a professional and dependable service.
